Office of Professional Standards

About the Office

The Office of Professional Standards is responsible for investigating all complaints regarding police personnel and ensuring that the community receives professional and respectful service. The office also manages training requirements, recruits new officers, and maintains compliance with State of Michigan law enforcement standards. Residents may contact the office with concerns or for assistance with the complaint process.

Training

This unit is responsible for meeting the training and recruiting needs of the department. The department maintains the State of Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES).
