Other information: Fire units Engine 2, Rescue 3, Rescue 4, Engine 5, Truck 6, Squad 6, and Car 3 were toned to respond to a two-story single-family dwelling. Upon initial arrival crews reported smoke coming out of the garage. Homeowner stated everyone was out of the home, however he had animals that needed to be evacuated. A faulty surge protector caused a heating lamp to catch a wooden cage on fire. Fire was contained and put out quickly by first arriving crews. Animals were successfully evacuated. A couple of sugar gliders were given oxygen by firefighters. Ventilation was performed to remove smoke from the home. No one on scene was injured.
