BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Bailey Park will be closed to the public on March 4, 6, 11, and 13, while the Battle Creek Police conduct Emergency Vehicle Operations (EVO) Training.
The park, located at 1350 Capital Ave. NE, will be closed from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. during training.
EVO training provides hands-on driving experience under the supervision of EVO instructors. Officers will review policies and conduct exercises in controlled pursuits, braking, and evasive maneuvers, felony stops and stop stick deployment.
Barricades will be set up at each entrance point, with BCPD cadets stationed nearby. While sirens will not be activated during the training, neighbors may see more emergency vehicles with activated lights.
BCPD officers undergo up to eight hours of EVO training annually to maintain their skills and ensure public safety.
