City contractor crews will continue well drilling work at Bailey Park beginning today, Monday, Dec. 9.
During this additional well drilling work, neighbors may notice temporary limited access or closures to certain Bailey Park facilities and roads/paths, including the park's main entrance off of Capital Avenue NE. There are no anticipated water shut offs during this well drilling work.
Crews will begin this additional well drilling work today, Monday, Dec. 9, and expect to be completed by Tuesday, Dec. 31, weather permitting. Work hours will generally be from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — City contractors will begin well drilling at Bailey Park beginning tomorrow, Monday, Nov. 18.
The well drilling work is part of the Verona Wellfield Well Replacement project with funds from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy’s Drinking Water State Revolving Fund and a local revenue loan.
Contractor crews will perform the well drilling work at the northern end of Bailey Park, located at 1392 Capital Ave. NE. While there are no expected road closures during the well drilling work, neighbors may notice some modifications to traffic in the area and availability of facilities, due to flooding (as well operations create tremendous amounts of service water.)
Crews anticipate starting the well drilling work Monday, Nov. 18, and expect the work to be completed by Sunday, Dec. 8. Additional work will be done in the future to connect well lines to the existing well collection mains, along with electrical and mechanical work on the wells.
