BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Battle Creek Police responded to the 200 block of Taft Court shortly before 4 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, after a witness reported two men standing outside an SUV, shooting at objects on a playground inside an apartment complex.
Officers located the SUV a short distance from the apartment complex and conducted a traffic stop. Inside the vehicle, they found a rifle and ammunition between the 19-year-old driver and the 23-year-old passenger.
A total of 17 shell casings were recovered from the apartment complex and the SUV.
Both men were arrested and face firearm-related charges. The driver also faces additional charges for operating while intoxicated.
