[ARCHIVED] Battle Creek firefighter sustains minor injuries during early morning residential fire

More information: The Battle Creek Fire Department and Lifecare Ambulance responded to a house fire on Clark Street shortly after midnight this morning, Monday, Oct. 7. 

Upon arrival, Car 3 reported seeing flames, ground-to-roof, at the back of the home. Fire crews positioned Engine 3 to extinguish the flames at the rear of the building while Truck 1 conducted a primary search of the second floor and Engine 5 searched the first floor. 

Rescue 6, Rescue 2, and Engine 4 fought the fire on the second floor and assessed the scene for indications the fire was continuing to spread. 

All occupants safely exited the home before the fire department arrived on the scene; one firefighter sought medical attention for minor injuries. 

Fire crews brought the fire under control an hour and a half after arriving on scene.
