[ARCHIVED] Stormwater project to close Latimer Lane, impact Goguac Lake boat launch access starting Oct. 7

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — The City of Battle Creek will be replacing the storm water sewer system near Goguac Lake beginning Monday, Oct. 7. Goguac Lake Boat Launch map

The project aims to prevent Columbia Avenue stormwater from entering Goguac Lake by installing a new storm sewer from Columbia Avenue and Hulbert Lane to Latimer Lane and Eel Street. 

Road Closure and Access Impact Schedule: 

  • Oct. 7 – Nov. 22: Latimer Lane will be closed from Eel Street to the west end of Latimer Lane. 
  • Oct. 7 – 14: Limited access to the DNR Boat Launch. 
  • Oct. 14 – 28: Access to the DNR Boat Launch will be closed. 
  • Oct. 28 – Nov. 22: Limited access to the DNR Boat Launch until pavement is placed.

The project is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and water management for residents.
