BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A 36-year-old woman is dead following a motorcycle accident that occurred at the intersection of Beckley Road and Helmer Road Friday, June 14, afternoon.
Battle Creek Police responded to a report of a single motorcycle accident shortly before 3:30 p.m. Friday, June 14, at the intersection of Beckley Road and Helmer Road South. The motorcycle rider, identified as a 36-year-old woman, had been turning left off Helmer Road to continue eastbound on Beckley Road, when she struck the curb on the southside of Beckley.
Based on additional information gathered from witnesses at the scene, speed doesn’t appear to be a factor in the crash, and the victim was wearing a full-face helmet.
Officers were assisted on scene by the Battle Creek Fire Department’s Rescue 6, Engine 4, and Car 3, as well as Lifecare Ambulance personnel, in providing medical assistance, including CPR. The BCFD assisted Lifecare Ambulance with transporting the victim to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, however the woman died while enroute.
