[ARCHIVED] 24-year-old Battle Creek man dead in apparent shooting on North Wabash Avenue Friday, Jan. 12

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Battle Creek Police have confirmed that a 24-year-old Battle Creek man is dead from apparent gunshot wounds during a shooting that occurred on North Wabash Avenue in the early morning hours of Friday, Jan. 12.

Police responded to a call of shots fired in the 100 block of North Wabash Avenue, around 3:42 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12. Upon their arrival, officers located a deceased male victim with apparent gunshot wounds.

Police have confirmed the identity of the victim as 24-year-old Israel Temple of Battle Creek.

BCPD’s Detective Bureau, Gang Suppression Unit, and Crime Lab are working on this ongoing investigation. Police are currently working on investigative leads and do not believe the community is in further danger from this incident.
