Battle Creek Police have heard neighbors’ concerns recently, and will place extra officers on traffic patrol next week, Oct. 23-27.
The Police Department will temporarily reassign officers to address ongoing traffic concerns we have heard from neighbors across the city.
Next Monday through Friday, up to 13 police officers will be specifically focused on – and ready to enforce – these traffic concerns:
- Speeding
- Aggressive driving
- Distracted driving
- Vehicles without license plates
- Other minor traffic offenses
These officers will be out in the city in addition to the city’s typical group of patrol officers. The officers will focus on all city neighborhoods and commercial areas.
Drivers also should remember that both city and state laws require that you use cell phones hands-free only while driving. This includes while you are sitting at a red traffic signal.
Police and city leaders appreciate everyone’s attention to safety while you are driving.
