BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The Battle Creek Fire Department invites the community to its 10th annual Fire Prevention Week open house, scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Fire Station 1, 195 E. Michigan Ave.
The free event will include refreshments, station tours, fire equipment displays, and games and activities. Families are encouraged to attend, meet local firefighters, and learn important fire safety tips.
The open house follows National Fire Prevention Week, observed Oct. 5–11 and led by the National Fire Protection Association. This year’s theme is “Charge into Fire Safety™: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home.” The campaign aims to educate the public about the importance of buying, charging, and recycling lithium-ion batteries safely.
We hope to see you there — come say hello, have some fun, and leave with tips that could help keep your family safe.
