BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The City of Battle Creek’s Department of Public Works will host its annual Open House for the public on Wednesday, June 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. at 150 S. Kendall St. in Battle Creek.
This free, family-friendly event will feature numerous city vehicles for visitors to explore, a scavenger hunt, giveaways including buckets of compost and plants, music, and more. A food truck will be available for those interested in purchasing food and drinks.
Staff members will be present with work vehicles and demonstrations to showcase their efforts to keep the City of Battle Creek running smoothly.
The Department of Public Works, staffed by 170 dedicated employees, oversees a myriad of support services, to include the city’s Wastewater Treatment Plant, Verona Drinking Water Facility, engineering and infrastructure, vehicles, including police and fire vehicles, and the city’s solid waste and recycling programs.
