BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – City crews will work to complete asphalt repair work to recent utility cuts along Goodale Avenue, resulting in temporary road closures, beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, April 29.
Crews will complete this work over a three-day period, weather permitting, which will result in the following temporary road closures:
- Tuesday, April 29 – Goodale Avenue East, from Redner Avenue/Roosevelt Avenue East to North Avenue
- Wednesday, April 30 – Goodale Avenue East, from Wilds Avenue to Redner Avenue/Roosevelt Avenue East
- Friday, May 2 – Goodale Avenue East, from Hillsdale Street to Wilds Avenue
Crews expect to begin this asphalt repair work each day by 6:30 a.m., with work wrapping up by 2 p.m. each day, as well.

As an update for our Battle Creek Transit riders, please find the following detour information, due to this asphalt repair work along Goodale Avenue, below.
We apologize for any inconvenience to our BCT riders, and for not including this important information with our original messaging.
Starting Tuesday, April 29, through Friday, May 2, the 3W- Kendall/Goodale bus route will operate on a detour due to asphalt repairs happening on Goodale Avenue.
During this detour, we will be unable to service the following bus stops:
🚫 Goodale at Wilds (OB and IB) - closest stop is at Washington and Goodale
🚫 Redner at Boyd (OB) - closest stop is at Dollar General (North Avenue) or Roosevelt at Springview Drive
🚫 Redner at Meadowlawn (OB) - closest stop is on Redner at Coolidge
🚫 Redner at Maryland (OB) - closest stop is on Redner at Coolidge
🚫 Roosevelt at Heartland (IB) - closest stop is on Roosevelt at Springview Drive
