BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The City of Battle Creek will be replacing the storm water sewer system on Lakeview Avenue, resulting in road closures for through traffic.
City crews will begin water main work Monday, March 31, resulting in the following road closures:
March 31-April 21
- Foster Avenue, from Columbia Ave. W to Lakeview Avenue
- Lakeview Avenue, from Foster Ave. to Circle Drive
Foster Avenue is expected to reopen by April 21, following pavement restoration. Lakeview Avenue will remain closed through July.
There will be two lane shifts on W. Columbia Avenue early in the project, but the road will remain open as crews work to replace the aging water main and install the new stormwater system, diverting runoff from Goguac Lake to existing retention ponds.
Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
