BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — The Battle Creek Police Department responded to a shooting near Corwin Street and Capital Avenue SW shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25. 

Upon their arrival, the BCPD and Emmett Township Department of Public Safety officers located a 37-year-old Battle Creek man with a single gunshot wound to his abdomen. The Battle Creek Fire Department treated the victim on the scene before LifeCare Ambulance transported him to a local hospital, where he’s currently listed in stable condition.

Officers believe this is an isolated incident that stemmed from an argument between the victim and a man that the victim knows, and there is no apparent danger to the public.
