[ARCHIVED] City Hall parking lot, south entrance, set to open week of July 8

Battle Creek City Hall visitors probably have noticed that the rain delayed our finishing work on the main parking lot, but we expect to reopen it the week of July 8.

When the parking lot reopens, we will reopen the south entrance of the building to the public, too!

This week, visitors should please continue to park in the north lot between City Hall and the Police Department, or across Division Street at Commerce Pointe. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we finish repaving and reconfiguring the main parking lot.

Once we transition visitors to the south entrance – which faces Monument Park and Michigan Avenue – the east and west entrance doors will be for staff only; deliveries to City Hall also will use the east entrance.

Please watch for signs directing these changes starting next week. We also encourage you to visit and look at some great photos of people using the south entrance in the early 1900s, after City Hall was first built in the current location in 1914. We will also celebrate with special treats on July 8, and smaller treats the rest of the week.
