With Independence Day just a week away, it's time to run through the fireworks laws. Check out our video below for all the info (transcript here: https://www.battlecreekmi.gov/DocumentCenter/View/12224/Fireworks-2023-transcript).
Here are some highlights for the 4th:
- You can use fireworks in the city from this Saturday, June 29, through next Friday, July 5. The law allows fireworks on July 5 when it falls on a Friday or Saturday.
- Fireworks are allowed each of those days from 11 a.m. to 11:45 p.m.
- Report a fireworks complaint at 269-781-0911 or online at battlecreekmi.gov/police. Click "Report a Crime." Police and Fire DO enforce the fireworks laws, but if there's a higher-priority call, they must take it.
Fireworks can be tough for veterans, pets, and others. Please respect your neighbors and only use them when they are allowed. Be safe and have fun!!
