Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to ReConserve for a reported structure fire. Originally the call was reported to be in the City of Springfield. 

Rescue 2 arrived within two minutes to find fire and smoke coming from a large, exterior hopper attached to the building. Multiple hand lines were used to extinguish the fire. Engine 1 and Engine 4 extinguished fire inside ductwork inside of the structure. Engine 3 assisted Rescue 2. Engine 5 had water supply.  

The BCFD received mutual aid from the Springfield and Bedford Fire Departments. Due to limited access of the machinery, the fire took over an hour to extinguish. The cause of the fire is undetermined.
