BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — SEMCO Energy Gas Company will work to replace gas main lines along sections of both Minges Road and Capital Avenue SW, resulting in temporary lane shifts, beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, March 13.
The specific sections impacted by the gas main line replacement work and temporary lane shifts are:
- Minges Road, from Lynwood Drive to about 300 feet east of the intersection of Minges and Capital Avenue SW
- Capital Avenue SW, from Wahwahtaysee Way to East Oakland Place
While there are no expected road closures during the gas main line replacement work, temporary lane shifts and flaggers to direct traffic will be present, as needed.
The first stage of work will include exploratory and sighting by SEMCO for the new gas main lines, with later work including excavating for and placing of new lines.
Crews will start the gas main line replacement work March 13, with an estimated completion date for the project of May 17.
