BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — City crews will complete asphalt paving repairs, at a recent utility cut, resulting in the temporary closure of a section of westbound Porter Street Tuesday, Aug. 1.
The specific section of Porter Street impacted by this temporary closure is:
- Westbound Porter Street, at the Michigan Avenue train track crossing
During this temporary closure, the following detour will be in place:
- Westbound Porter Street traffic: Turn right on Stone Avenue, turn left on 1st Street, turn left on Gilbert Street, and then turn right to resume traveling westbound on Michigan Avenue
- Eastbound Porter Street traffic will not be detoured, as traffic can continue traveling east on Porter Street
There will also be flaggers onsite to control the westbound and eastbound Michigan Avenue traffic, at its intersection with Porter Street, to allow for both temporary vehicle and train traffic stops, as needed.
Crews expect this asphalt paving repair work to begin at 7 a.m. and be wrapped up by 1 p.m.
