BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — One person has died in a fatal car accident at the intersection of West Dickman Road and South Washington Avenue in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 23.
Police arrived on scene, at the intersection of Dickman Road and Washington Avenue, around 4:15 a.m. Sunday, responding to a call of an accident involving a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck. Officers believe that the passenger vehicle was traveling southbound on Washington, did not stop for a red signal, and struck the semi-truck heading eastbound on Dickman.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was identified as 40-year-old Paul Warren, of Battle Creek, and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only occupant of the passenger vehicle. The semi-truck driver was not injured.
This incident remains under investigation; however, speed does appear to be a factor.
