Road closure on Hamblin Avenue
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – Jan. 7, beginning at 9 a.m., Hamblin Avenue from Division Street to Beacon Street, will be closed.
A contractor will be removing fuel tanks at 55 Hamblin Avenue. During the closure, Hamblin Avenue, from Division Street to Beacon Street, will be closed. Emergency vehicles will not have access.
Northbound vehicles on Division Street will be able to turn west on Hamblin until the closure at 9 a.m. Once the closure is in place, vehicles will not be able to turn left from Division onto Hamblin and no access will be allowed to parking off Hamblin, between Division and Beacon. The work is expected to be completed by 12 p.m. the same day.
This work will impact Battle Creek Transit’s Main-Post bus route. The outbound bus will detour missing the stop on Hamblin Avenue behind the Kellogg Institute. Also, Battle Creek Transit’s NE Capital Avenue bus route will be impacted by this work. The inbound bus will detour missing the stop located at Hamblin Avenue and Monroe Street. Customers that use either of these routes should use the stops located at Michigan Avenue and Division Street.
Motorists and pedestrians are advised to seek alternate routes.
We appreciate everyone’s patience during this and all work.
