Water valve replacement work next Friday
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Crews will begin repairing broken water valves at the intersection of Columbia Ave. E. and Capital Ave. SW and Grand Blvd. at Harold and John R. Streets resulting in a temporary water outage for the listed areas and a road closure beginning next Friday.
During this work, the intersection of Columbia Ave. E. and Capital Ave. SW will be restricted to two-way traffic in all directions. No left turns will be allowed during this closure. Emergency vehicles will have access. Motorist should seek alternate routes.
This work is scheduled to take place beginning Friday, June 28 at 6 p.m. continuing until Saturday, June 29 at 6 p.m.
City neighbors in the areas listed below should be prepared to be without water and for potential boil water advisories when service returns. Additional information will be made available to the media, and through the city’s website and social media, should it become necessary.
Areas and times could be changed due to unforeseen circumstances once work begins. The estimated shut off time is Friday, June 28, at 10 p.m.

- Highland Ave. between Columbia Ave. E. and Latimer Ln.
- Grand Blvd. between Grandview Ct. and Columbia Ave. E.
- Eel St.
- Lucille Ave.
- Latimer Ln.
- Kerston Ave.
- Harold St.
The estimated shut off time is Friday, June 28, at 10 p.m.
