Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched for a possible explosion in an occupied home. It was reported that the front door had blown into the front yard. Engine 4 arrived and reported heavy fire coming from the structure. They made an aggressive attack. Other crews arrived shortly and assisted with search and extinguishment. Overhaul and extinguishment was completed in about 1 ½ hours. Red Cross was notified and assisted the displaced occupants. Semco Energy and Consumers Power were also notified. The fire is currently under investigation by the Battle Creek Fire Department.
