Two Lansing men currently are in the Calhoun County Jail related to multiple charges – including human trafficking – after a joint police investigation.
Alexander Murray, 34 and Kevin Nemeth, 39 were arraigned Friday afternoon.
On Jan. 4 Battle Creek Police received information about drugs and prostitution present at an area hotel. They arrested Murray on warrants from Arizona, and Nemeth fled the scene.
This led police to Lansing on a human trafficking investigation, in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations. In Lansing, the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office, Lansing Police Department, and Michigan State Police First District Fugitive Team assisted.
As a result of the investigation, police saved two victims. Information about them will not be released at this time.
