[ARCHIVED] Water main project continues on 29th Street

Road work ahead

This year’s water main improvement project in the numbered streets continues, now on 29th Street.

North 29th, from Highland Boulevard to Territorial Road, now is closed to thru traffic; crews will maintain local access.

Work hours will be kept as close to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. as possible, and it is anticipated that work on 29thStreet will be completed in late July or early August.

This will be the second of several phases of this project, which aims to replace water mains that have experienced problems with freezing and breaks. Street pavement, concrete, and curbing also will be replaced during this project.

Work on 26th Street, the first phase, should be complete in the next few weeks, after a top coat of hot asphalt. West Kingman and Taft are on deck for the next phase of the project.

Neighbors on 29th Street should have been informed of the project by door hangers. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we continue the ongoing projects that maintain our infrastructure.
