[ARCHIVED] Paving to close section of N. Washington on Tuesday

road-work-ahead-sign

A section of North Washington Avenue will be closed on Tuesday for paving work.

North Washington will be closed between Goodale Avenue and Coolidge Street from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There will be no access to Washington from Maryland Drive or Hubert Street. Emergency vehicles will have access.

Work is weather dependent, and may be completed on Wednesday.

This section will be skim paved, which means placing a thin layer of asphalt to cover potholes and smooth out the road. Later this summer, chip seal will be placed (layers of asphalt and stones, rolled over). The combination is used to produce a high-quality road.

The city appreciates everyone’s patience during this and all maintenance work.
