[ARCHIVED] City sewer lines to be televised in December

RedZone Robotics logo

The City of Battle Creek will work with RedZone Robotics to televise the city’s sanitary and storm sewer systems, allowing us to assess the condition of the pipes.

RedZone crews will begin working on city streets starting tomorrow – Tuesday, Dec. 1 – and will continue this work throughout December, weather permitting.

This will be a sampling of our sewers, but crews will visit nearly every street to access manholes. They use robotic cameras to view conditions within the pipes.

RedZone will station trucks at manholes with traffic cones up, and drivers should be able to navigate around them. Generally, the crew will be at each manhole for about 10 minutes.

If you encounter a RedZone vehicle stationed at a manhole, please use appropriate caution to drive safely around that vehicle. The city appreciates everyone’s cooperation.
