As the winter season approaches in Battle Creek, the city invites neighbors to help us name 10 snowplows.
The naming contest kicks off the city’s annual Snowtifications, the annual series of tips and reminders about Battle Creek snow removal and operations during the winter. Check out the information by following the city on Facebook and Nextdoor. Some of these also appear in the upcoming BC City Connection newsletter, and online at battlecreekmi.gov/snow.
We will accept snowplow name submissions through Friday, Dec. 15. Find the simple form on our website, battlecreekmi.gov, in the City Spotlights, or on the snow page mentioned above. We will not consider names that are obscene, profane, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate.
The week of Dec. 18 we will release the list of submitted names, and neighbors can vote for their top 10 through Friday, Jan. 12.
We will roll out the new plow names in late January 2024! The 10 plows represent about half of our snowplow fleet, so look for another naming contest during the 2024-25 winter season.
