BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A 66-year-old man was assaulted in the area of Green Street and Charlton Street early this morning, Saturday, Nov. 5.
Battle Creek Police responded at approximately 7 a.m. to a call at 209 E. Michigan Ave. to investigate a reported assault, which was later determined to have occurred at the corner of Green and Charlton.
The assault victim, a 66-year-old man, was found to have several lacerations to his face and head, and was transported to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital by LifeCare ambulance.
It was later determined that the man suffered multiple skull fractures, a possible fractured jaw, and a brain injury that would require surgery. He was transferred to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.
The victim was unable to communicate with police, and there are no suspects at this time. Police will continue to investigate, following the man’s recovery from surgery.
