BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A city contractor will be working to pave a section of Linear Park path beginning Tuesday, Sept. 13, resulting in the temporary closure of that section of the path.

The section of Linear Park path affected by this project is:

  • Tuesday, Sept. 13: Linear Park path between Washington Avenue and 20th Street

Work hours on the paving project will be 7 a.m.-7 p.m., during which neighbors will be unable to access this section of Linear Park path.

If the contractor is unable to complete the project in one work day, the same closure might be extended into Wednesday, Sept. 14, as well. Updates will follow if further closure is needed.

Part of Washington Avenue will also undergo construction work beginning Tuesday, Sept. 13 and lasting through Friday, Sept. 16, as milling and paving is underway, as part of earlier work completed in August.

The following section of Washington Avenue will be impacted:

  • Tuesday, Sept. 13 through Wednesday, Sept. 14: Washington Avenue between Michigan Avenue and Goodale Avenue due to milling
  • Thursday, Sept. 15 through Friday, Sept. 16: Washington Avenue between Michigan Avenue and Goodale Avenue due to paving

Work hours will be from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on the above-mentioned construction days.

Neighbors and motorists are encouraged to be aware of lane shifts and to follow directions of flagging personnel while in the work zone.

We appreciate everyone’s patience during all work on our city’s infrastructure.
