Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 345 Lakeshore Drive. Engine 6, Squad 6, and Car 3 arrived within five minutes to find smoke showing from the single-family home.  Engine 6 and Squad 6 quickly extended a hose line to extinguish the fire.  Truck 1, Engine 2, Squad 2, Rescue 3, and Engine 5 assisted.  Car 3 assumed command.  The fire was located in the attic area and was extinguished within 15 minutes.  The occupants were home at the time of the fire and were notified of the fire from the fire alarm system.  This allowed everyone to safely exit before the fire department's arrival.   Property loss was reduced due to the quick work of the fire department.  The fire is believed to have started in the attic from a bathroom exhaust fan that overheated.  The cause is being investigated by the Fire Marshal.  No injuries reported.
