Starting Friday, May 20, Goguac Lake will receive several days of chemical weed treatments, coordinated by the city and the state Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy. These are routine, annual treatments to keep our lake healthy.
The team applying the treatments will post signs in the treated areas of the lake, asking neighbors and visitors to stay off the water in those areas for 24 hours. This is so the treatments have time to reach the intended weed species in the water, and work effectively.
If a person does go into the lake while the treatment signs are posted, we recommend showering after leaving the lake. The treatments are tested, and determined to be safe for this use in the lake.

- Friday, May 20 - Treatment in the channels along Lakeshore Drive, Lynwood Drive, Bayshore Drive, and Bay Pointe Street
- Monday and Wednesday, May 23 and 25 - Treatment in shoreline areas around the north and south ends of the lake, near the following streets: Sherman Drive and Woodrow South, Lakeshore Drive, private road to Vince Island, Country Club Drive, George B Place/Jennings Landing/Willard Beach Park, Hiawatha Drive, Wa Wee Nork Drive, and Honey Lane/Sunnyside Drive
