Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 16 W Burnham St. Car 3 arrived within three minutes to find smoke and flames showing from the 2nd floor. Engine 2 and Squad 2 extended a hose line to perform fire attack and search on the 2nd floor, while rescue 3 searched the 1st floor. Squad 6 searched the basement. No occupants were home at the time of the fire, however, two dogs were safely rescued. Engine 5 and Rescue 6 assisted with support functions.  The fire was under control within eight minutes and damage was minimal, due to the quick actions of the fire department.  The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Fire Marshal. No injuries reported.
