[ARCHIVED] Transit without power Sept. 7; some services limited

Columbia/Territorial bus leaving the downtown Battle Creek transfer center

Our Battle Creek Transit building lost power in tonight’s thunderstorm, affecting our ability to schedule and change Tele-Transit and BCGo rides.

Transit phone lines are also down tonight. We are working on a different solution, and hope to have an update on Wednesday.

Transit buses, Tele-Transit vans, and BCGo vans are still running regular hours.

Tele-Transit and BCGo will provide rides already scheduled, and BCGo riders can continue scheduling rides through the mobile app. However, our Transit dispatch cannot schedule new rides right now, or make any changes to scheduled rides.

We’re not sure when Transit will get power back, but we expect it will be out at least through tomorrow. We are working on a different way to schedule Tele-Transit and BCGo rides through Transit dispatch, and will update the community as soon as we have more information.

Our Transit building, at 339 W. Michigan Ave., will be open regular hours tomorrow (Wednesday), 8 a.m.-5 p.m., for cash sales only.
