Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 118 Nelson St.  Rescue 3 arrived within two minutes to find flames showing on the rear of the first floor and heavy smoke throughout a two-story, single-family dwelling.  A hand-line was quickly deployed to extinguish the fire and search for any occupants.   An additional hose-line was deployed by Rescue 4 to assist with fire attack and search.  Engine 2, Engine 5, Squad 6, Truck 6 and Car 3 were also on-scene assisting.  The fire is believed to have started on the rear porch and extended into the structure.  No occupants were home at the time of the fire.  Due to the quick actions by fire crews, the fire was under control within 20 minutes.  No injuries reported.  The fire is suspicious and the Fire Marshal is investigating.  No cause has been determined.
