Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 430 W. Van Buren St.  Car 3 arrived within four minutes to find flames showing on the first floor, and heavy smoke throughout a three-unit dwelling.  Engine 5 arrived to stretch a hose-line to search for any occupants and extinguish the fire.  Additional hose-lines were deployed by Engine 2 and Rescue 4.  Rescue 3, Squad 6 and Truck 6 were also on-scene assisting.  Fire extended into the second floor and attic areas.  Due to the heavy fire involvement throughout, the fire was extinguished in one hour.  One firefighter suffered a hand injury.  The building was vacant, and later found out to be scheduled for demolition.  The fire is suspicious and the Fire Marshal is investigating.  No cause has been determined.
