Other information: Car 3, Engine 2, Rescue 3, Rescue 4, Engine 5, Truck 6, and Squad 6 responded to a single-story, wood-frame structure with unattached garage. Upon arrival, the unattached garage was totally involved in fire. Fire crews pulled hose lines, and quickly extinguished the fire. After the fire was extinguished, the fire crews performed overhaul. Some siding on the exterior of the home melted. There was minimum damage to the outside of the house. No firefighters or civilians were injured. The resident claimed that the cause of the fire was careless smoking inside the garage.
