Columbia Ave. Water Main Project Update

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – Starting on Monday, May 4, Hunter Prell will work on Columbia Avenue to resolve some issues due to last summer’s water main replacement project.

Monday and Tuesday westbound traffic on Columbia Ave. will be temporarily reduced while three fire hydrants are relocated.

Wednesday through Friday the southernmost three lanes on Columbia Avenue near Comerica Bank will be closed while a new water service is installed.  Eastbound traffic through this area will be shifted into the westbound lane.  Motorists are advised to obey all work zone signs regarding this traffic shift.

This work should be completed by Saturday, May 9, weather permitting.

Motorists should seek alternate routes. Driveway access will be maintained for all businesses still open at this time.

We appreciate everyone’s patience during this and all work to maintain our infrastructure.
