[ARCHIVED] Minor disruptions Monday on Capital SW, Territorial

DPW work February 24, 2020

Sanitary sewer and electric work may cause temporary traffic disruptions on Capital Avenue SW and Territorial Road, starting on Monday, Feb. 24.

  • Harlan Electric, a Consumers Energy subcontractor, will continue electric system improvements that will close the southbound shoulder of Capital Avenue SW, in the area of Golden Avenue.
The closure will start around 9 a.m. Monday, and is expected to be in place one hour, if work goes according to plans.

  • City contractor Taplin Group will continue the routine inspection and cleaning of our sanitary sewer system starting at 7 a.m. Monday, with work finishing by March 9, weather permitting. This round will take place on Capital Avenue SW between Minges Road and Summer Street, and on Territorial Road between Riverside Drive and 20th Street.
Streets are open during this work, but travelers may experience temporary lane closures, as this work takes place in the right-of-way.

Please be alert to this work, and the crews performing it. We appreciate everyone’s patience and attention.
